Why We Love Mimosas and Bellinis

Let’s be honest, I love anything with sparkling wine. Mimosas and Bellinis are serious favorites. Fruity, pretty, girly, yum.

  • Mimosas: The classic drink is made with orange juice and prosecco.
  • Bellinis: The classic drink is made with peach nectar, but we’re DIY-ing it! You’ll need frozen sliced peaches, agave nectar (or another liquid sweetener), water, and prosecco.

It’s so easy to set up your own mimosa bar, and I promise you it will be super popular! It’s a wonderful way to add some fun and color to your party!

Mimosa Bar Ideas

I used a mix of flavors for my mimosas and bellinis with pineapple, peach, strawberry, and blackberry puree, but you can choose whatever flavors you want. Some I can’t wait to try next time are mango, clementine, raspberry, or even kiwi. The choice is entirely yours to make!

Serving Suggestions

This mimosa bar is perfect for bridal showers, birthdays, weddings, or Sunday brunch. Serve it up with brunch classics, like quiche lorraine, blueberry pancakes, sticky buns, eggs benedict casserole, cake mix coffee cake, chicken and waffles on a stick, french toast casserole, baked apple oatmeal, or chocolate croissants.

What does a mimosa bar consist of?

A mimosa bar is the perfect DIY for your next party. All you need is prosecco (or champagne) and fruit juices and purees.

What’s the difference between mimosas and Bellinis?

Mimosas are made with orange juice, while bellinis are made with peach nectar or puree.

What kind of alcohol is good for mimosas?

I like prosecco, but champagne or sparkling wine also works well.

Can you make the purees with fresh fruit?

I much prefer to use frozen fruits for this mimosa bar. It means you can serve the drinks straight away as they are nice and chilled and I find it much more convenient and budget friendly. You can make them with fresh fruits if you have them to hand.

Are mimosas high in alcohol?

Mimosas and bellinis typically have as much alcohol as prosecco, so around 12%.

Becky’s tips

Yield:Each recipe will yield approx 8-9 drinks per bottle of prosecco.

  • I used agave nectar to sweeten the purees, but any liquid sweetener will work well.
  • Have fun with the garnishes! Lay out your bellini bar with sprigs of fresh herbs and fruits so that people can decorate their own glasses.
  • Enjoy and drink responsibly!
