I always found that taking classes paired with real life experiences improve one's skill set. It's best to become well rounded on the platforms you use and then apply what you learned. For example, if you use Facebook, create an A/B test after learning about the platforms capabilities. If you're using LinkedIn - take their classes and run a test campaign to see if you can leverage what the platform has to offer.

2 What to look for in an online course
When choosing an online course for social media marketing, there are several factors to consider. Firstly, look for an instructor who has a proven track record of successful campaigns and can provide real-world examples and case studies. Secondly, the course should cover essential topics such as strategy, content creation, platform selection, analytics, and tools. Additionally, the course should be well-structured, engaging, and interactive. Finally, the course should have clear learning objectives that provide feedback and assessment, and help you build a portfolio of projects to showcase to potential employers or clients.

3 Some of the best online courses
We recommend several online courses for those looking to improve their social media marketing skills in marketing operations. Northwestern University offers a Social Media Marketing Specialization, a six-course program that covers topics such as developing a social media strategy, designing and delivering content, managing communities, and evaluating performance. This specialization also comes with a capstone project. Udacity's Digital Marketing Nanodegree is a three-month program that teaches how to launch and grow digital marketing campaigns, including search engine optimization, social media marketing, email marketing, and Google Analytics. Additionally, HubSpot Academy's Social Media Marketing Certification is a free course that covers the basics of social media marketing and includes a certification exam to test knowledge and skills.

Hubspot Academy has AMAZING online courses that are free and can help with Inbound methodology, outbound methodology, social media marketing, email marketing, and much more. LinkedIn learning offers a few marketing courses that are also certificate granting so that you can add them to your profile. Others to add would be Udemy and Coursera! These courses are a mix of paid and free, but they can be a mixed bag in my opinion. You need to review the curriculum and timeline, and truly vet the course before spending time on it. Overall, I recommend Hubspot Academy. And if you aren't using hubspot, review your specific software to see if they have a free learning platform or free tutorials. These can often be the best use of your time.
