Kylie Jenner's Classic Beauty Routine: A Breakdown of Her Signature Look

From soft contouring to subtle glam, she broke down her updated signature look — sharing secrets, favorite products, and how she still gets that snatched finish with a more natural touch.

In her return to Vogue's Beauty Secrets, Kylie Jenner offered an inside look at how her makeup routine had evolved in 2023. Gone were the ultra-baked complexions and sharp contours that once defined her look. In their place, a more minimal, skin-focused approach that still delivers the sculpted finish she's known for.

Once known for her heavy glam — defined by precise lip lining, intense contouring, and baking — she has since shifted toward a more natural aesthetic. Still, as she put it:

Her updated routine begins with a lip scrub, a non-negotiable step before any bold or matte lip. Then, after clipping her hair back, Jenner mixes a pump of moisturizer with a sample foundation — subtly teasing a potential Kylie Cosmetics release.

She applies the blend with her fingers, noting the shift to hands-on application has made the experience more intimate. "My foundation just looks different," she said. "I feel way more natural."

Concealer follows, dabbed with fingertips under the eyes and around the nose. For contouring, she uses a Nudestix foundation stick in place of traditional bronzer. Buffed into the cheekbones, temples, and nose, her application is softer than in past years.

"I feel like the way that I contour now is definitely less harsh," Jenner explains. She adds a rosy flush using two shades of Kylie Cosmetics Lip & Cheek Glow Balm, describing them as hydrating and blendable — even over powder.

She then taps the blush onto her lips, showcasing the product's versatility. To set her base, Jenner uses Givenchy loose powder with a lighter hand than she did in earlier routines.

She follows up with Charlotte Tilbury's pressed powders to lock in the look without over-matting the skin. Her interest in experimentation is evident throughout the process. She revealed:

Eyes are next. Jenner starts with a Kylie Cosmetics Matte Liquid Eyeshadow — released that same day. She applies a small amount and blends it outward, followed by neutral matte powders to soften the finish.

A tiny winged liner helps elongate her round eyes, and any stray lines are cleaned up with concealer, applied even over powder.

Her lips remain a defining feature. Jenner uses a sample lip product, slightly overlining for a fuller effect. As with much of her routine now, she skips rigid steps in favor of going with the flow. "I don't really have steps anymore. I kind of just do whatever I feel," she said.

To finish, Jenner applies an all-over highlighter and debuts her KYLASH Volume Mascara. After years of lash extensions, she's returned to her natural lashes, influenced by her mother's genetics. She revealed of the mascara formula, focusing application at the corners of her eyes to enhance an almond shape:
