When Can We Expect the New Season?

After years of speculation, delays, and scattered updates, "Euphoria" season 3 is finally moving forward. Production is set to begin in January 2025, with HBO confirming the series will return in 2026.

Why the Delay?

Several factors contributed to the extended timeline. The writers' strike in 2023 halted production across the industry, and creator Sam Levinson had been focused on another HBO project, "The Idol," which was canceled after one season.

In the meantime, the show's lead actors — including Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, and Jacob Elordi — were booked with back-to-back major projects. Levinson's insistence on writing the entire series himself also added to the delay.

Who's Returning and Who's Not?

With the production date locked in, HBO confirmed the return of the full principal cast. Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, Sweeney, and Elordi will all reprise their roles.

Additional returning cast includes Dominic Fike, Alanna Ubach, Daeg Faerch, Melvin Bonez Estes, Nika King, Paula Marshall, Sophia Rose Wilson, and Zak Steiner.

Barbie Ferreira, who portrayed Kat, will not be returning. She announced her exit after four years with the series. Fezco, played by Angus Cloud, will also not appear following the actor’s passing in 2023.

Ashtray, who was killed in the Season 2 finale, could return only in flashbacks or dream sequences. The status of Eric Dane’s character, Cal Jacobs, remains unknown.

New Faces Join the Cast

Season 3 will feature an expanded cast, including several high-profile additions. Spanish singer Rosalía is set to make her acting debut in the series, alongside actor Kadeem Hardison and Super Bowl champion Marshawn Lynch.

HBO confirmed their roles and shared an early look at Rosalía's character. Other new cast members include Danielle Deadwyler, Natasha Lyonne, Eli Roth, and Trisha Paytas.

An Evolved Soundtrack

The upcoming season will introduce a new musical collaboration. Renowned composer Hans Zimmer joins the series to work alongside longtime musical contributor Labrinth.

Together, they'll shape the sound of Season 3, building on the show's bold and emotional tone while bringing in new elements to match the evolving story.

Will They Still Be in High School?

One of the most anticipated questions is how far the story will jump ahead. Season 3 is expected to lead the characters toward graduation, with potential storylines exploring their lives as seniors or young adults.

Zendaya previously hinted that the new season could move beyond the high school setting entirely, showing how each character navigates life after East Highland.

While many plot details remain under wraps, "Euphoria" season 3 now has a clear production schedule, a confirmed returning cast, and a slate of new talent.

With filming set to begin in early 2025 and a premiere window set for 2026, the show is finally back on track — and fans have reason to be excited about what comes next.
